Preamble

We, the mothers, wives, widows, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, stepdaughters, and granddaughters of the American Veteran and female veterans, fully realizing our responsibilities to the community, State and nation, associate ourselves for the following purposes: To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America; to safeguard the principles of freedom, liberty and justice for all; to promote the cause of peace and good will among nations; to maintain inviolate the freedom of our country; to preserve the fundamentals of democracy and Americanism; to perpetuate the friendship and associations of the American Veteran and to dedicate ourselves to the cause of mutual assistance…this by the grace of God.

Our History

The Redgranite AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary was chartered in 1953 with 15 original charter members. It was Charter #425.

The National Auxiliary held its first organizational meeting in September of 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA. Representatives from 13 states met to set the wheels in motion. Wisconsin was represented by Florence Stripe of Oshkosh, WI, she was one of the founding members. Our moto is “We waited together, now let’s work together.”

To be elidable for membership you must be related to an AMVETS member (wife, widow, mother, grandmother, daughter, step-daughter, granddaughter, or sister not less than 18 years of age.) Or related to a deceased veteran who would of been eligible for membership in AMVETS.

AMVETS Auxiliary has five service programs: Child Welfare, Community Service, Hospital, Scholarship, and Americanism.

Our Veterans and their families are our members priority. We volunteer at multiple VA medical centers in the state and in our communities.
