Wisconsin Riders Get National Recognition

During the National Convention in August Department President Chis Salzer, 1st Vice Larry Redmann Sr, and Judge Advocate Wayne Guenther traveled to North Carolina for the AMVETS national convention. While on the way out there they experienced rain, wind, and sunshine not only representing Wisconsin Department but also Chapter 13 and Chapter 1 of Wisconsin for Riders. They also attended the AMVETS meetings and convention. While present at the convention Chris presented National President Natalie Cummings a check for $1,000 for her 22 a day campaign that helps with Veteran suicide awareness. Chris had made the comment that he mad the National President cry. In return this was the first time Wisconsin was recognized with 3 awards at the national level both Chapter 13 and Chapter 1776 received quality chapter awards recognizing them for their growth in membership and also their support of volunteer hours in the community. Chapter 1776 received the highest growth by percentage in the nation award as the chapter that had the most membership growth by percentage over the course of the calendar year. Chris recently presented Chapter 13 president Robert Rhode the award for Chapter 13 and Chris and Larry traveled to Melrose on September 10th to present Chapter 1776 President Paul Ervin their awards. Along with the awards each member of the chapter received a quality chapter patch that can be proudly worn on their cut.

10th Annual Ride met with great weather

The 10th annual Chapter 13 Gun Raffle and Benefit Ride for the County Veterans Service Office was met with sunny skies and fair temperatures. 84 participants gathered together on bike, trikes, and cars to enjoy 118 miles of scenic roads in Waushara County with 4 stops. The first stop was Murph’s Bar in Neshkoro just outside of Waushara County, the owner who has been a huge supporter of our mission was there to greet us and welcome all of us in for a wonderful 1st stop where the Pigs were let out of their pen. Pick a pig was new this year for our 50/50 and a huge success, to watch grown men with go tees, beards and Harleys giggle about pigs with sunglasses was fantastic. From there we went to Johannes in Richford again another wonderful supporter and again the 50/50 was a welcomed with laughter by their patrons. Through Amish country we went to Sawdust City where we had our 1st of 2 sell out of pigs after a few wonderful donations by patrons to us there we were on our way to Jorgie’s. Getting to Jorgie’s just before their steak fry started Jodi and crew welcomed us and again we sold out of pigs and after 4 stop the pigs were retired to their pen helping us earn $1,800 for our 50/50 event this year. After a great time in Borth we headed back to the Lions hall for Dinner served by the ladies Auxiliary and our Live Auction and Bucket Raffles. Another wonderful event in the books, we thank all those who helped us again this year, thank you Americas Chapter 1776 for coming down and riding with us was great to see you again. Until next years event Oink Oink!!!!!!

Flag Day Ride 1776

6/14/2025 1776 hosted their annual Flag Day Ride, Chapter 1, Chapter 13 and Chapter 1776 came together and supported the ride. Was great seeing old friends and making new ones. We rode just over 100 miles through the coulees of Wisconsin. The views were great but the bonding with brothers and sisters were greater. The day started off with a few showers but ended up with beautiful weather with a beautiful tour of Western Wisconsin. Not only was it a celebration of Chapters it was the Army’s 250 Birthday which was also Celebrated we also gave prayers, and a tribute to Jared one of our Chapter 13 Members who is over in the thick of things right now over all Chapter 13 put on over 300 miles and there were lots of smiles and yes we won many a prize again this year. Great annual ride and time will spent lifting up our fellow Veterans the money raised will stay in the community and 1776 will do great things with that we are sure.

On June 7th the Riders of Post 13 went to the Marine Corps League of Oshkosh’s Poker Run. Led by President/Commander Robert Rhode the group left Redgranite bright and early and headed to Oshkosh for the Poker Run. This was a chance for the Post 13 Riders to help out another Veteran Organization by supporting their ride and fund raiser.

The next scheduled Ride for our group will be June 14th supporting AmVets Post 1776 in Melrose. This ride will be scenic and one our post members look forward to every year. Vets Helping Vets this is what it is all about.
